How to print them

  1. Open the PDF and print only the page you want (page range, not the whole file).
  2. Set scaling to 100 percent or "actual size". "Fit to page" shrinks the trim area.
  3. Use 65 to 80 lb cardstock if you have it. Plain paper is fine for a test.
  4. Cut along the outside of the corner brackets for an 8 x 10 in sign, or leave the margins for an 8.5 x 11 frame.

Where to hang it

Centred over the station, bottom of the frame 3 to 6 in above the tallest thing on the counter. One sign is enough; a second one turns the corner into a gift shop. The styling guide covers the rest of the wall, and the accessories guide has a section on buying signs if you want wood or metal instead of paper.

The other free guides

The free guides page also has a measure-before-you-buy sizing sheet and a setup checklist with a restock list, both in the same style.

Questions people ask

What size are the printable coffee bar signs?
Each sign is on a US letter page (8.5 x 11 in) with an 8 x 10 in design area marked by corner brackets, so it fits a standard 8 x 10 frame after trimming. Print at 100 percent, not fit to page. On A4 paper, set the printer to letter or leave scaling at 100 percent and trim the margins.
Can I print them in black and white?
Yes. The signs use dark brown ink on cream paper and a small crema-colour accent. In greyscale the accent prints as a light grey and the signs still read fine. Two designs have a dark background and use a lot of ink; print those on the cheapest setting or skip them.
What paper should I use?
Plain paper works, but 65 to 80 lb (about 175 to 215 gsm) cardstock looks better and does not curl in a frame. A cream or ivory stock matches the design; bright white is fine too.
Can I use these for a business, wedding or party?
Personal use, parties, weddings and your own office kitchen are all fine. Please do not resell the files or the printed signs, and do not re-host the PDF; link to this page instead.
Where should a coffee bar sign go?
Centred over the station, with the bottom of the frame 3 to 6 inches above the tallest thing on the surface. One sign is enough; the styling guide covers why.
